Access Restrictions

As with other features, flexibility is key—Access restrictions help you tailor exactly who sees what, when, and how!

Not every user should have access to the same data. In AlisQI forms, you can control which users see which results and fields through Access Restrictions.

If your dataset contains sensitive information or you simply want to define clear data boundaries, you can configure access restrictions per user group. This way, you can either render individual results visible or invisible and selectively hide specific fields from view.

This article will show you how to enable and manage these restrictions.

Required Set-up

To use Access Restrictions in your analysis set, you need to:

  • Navigate to the Results overview
  • Open the Access Restriction page from More » Access Restriction
  • Click New rule to set up a restriction

You can define restrictions based on the following:

  • User groups – Select one or more groups that the rule will apply to
  • Analysis set filter – Specify which results are visible to the selected groups
  • Blocked fields – Optionally, select which fields will be hidden from view for the selected groups

You can apply multiple rules to the same analysis set, depending on your access control needs.

Define Access Restrictions for user groups

Select the user groups you want the restriction to apply to. Set a filter to narrow down the visible results and (optionally) define the fields you want to block.

When users belonging to the restricted groups view the dataset:

  • They will only see the results that match the specified filter.
  • Any fields added to the blocklist will be completely hidden from their view.

Save and manage rules

After defining your access rule, click Save to activate it.

You can always return to the Access Restrictions page to edit or delete existing rules as your access needs evolve.

For Example:

Users in the "Lab technicians" and "Maintenance" groups are restricted to seeing only results where the value for the Machine field is "Pump oven"; moreover, they cannot view the fields "Raise a formal PD" and "Corrective actions".
