FAQ's: Modules & Solvers
See below for the most common questions related to Modules and Solvers
How do I activate a Solver?
Solvers are activated at the time you are onboarded into AlisQI by your onboarding CSM. If you upgrade your license this also will be activated by your CSM.
You can contact Support or your AlisQI account manager to discuss changes in your licensing.
What happens when a Solver is disabled?
Disabling a solver affects functionality, not your data.
- Data is retained
- User interface options may be hidden
- Specific functionality stops
- Automations stop immediately
When re-enabled:
- Settings and data return
- Automations resume (but missed actions are not replayed)
Can multiple Solvers unlock the same feature?
Yes. A feature stays available as long as at least one relevant solver is enabled.
Do Solvers depend on each other?
Some do.
For Example: Statistical Process Control requires Product QC or Process QC
If the dependency is not met → You cannot enable the solver
For a better understanding and break-down on dependencies, check out the following article: Solver Dependencies
What is Feature Gating?
Feature gating is the system that controls which features are available to a user based on which solvers are enabled.
In simple terms: It decides what you can see and do in the product
To understanding feature gating more, please refer to these articles: What is Feature Gating and how it relate to me? and Feature Matrix Diagram
Why features are (or become) unavailable?
Features may not be available or disappear if a solver is disabled or a dependency is missing.
Common reasons:
- The solver was disabled
- A required dependency solver is not enabled for example: Statistical Process Control requires: Product QC OR Process QC
